Acoustic silencer + SCR
Integrated or modular exhaust assemblies combining NOx reduction, sound attenuation, AdBlue/DEF dosing, mixing, control and service access.
One engineered solution for lower NOx emissions, controlled noise and reliable backup power. Designed and integrated by Filter Solutions S.L.
Final layout and component order are engineered to suit each engine, site and operating profile.
There is no single configuration. The system is defined from the NOx target, exhaust temperature and flow, maximum allowable backpressure, real duty cycle, acoustic target and available installation space.
Depending on those inputs, the solution may combine an acoustic silencer, SCR with AdBlue/DEF and, where required and technically viable, a DOC or DPF. The aim is to reduce emissions and noise without exceeding the engine's operating limits.
We manufacture and integrate complete exhaust solutions rather than supplying a standalone catalyst. The core solution combines acoustic attenuation and selective catalytic reduction (SCR), with further treatment when required.
Part of our expertise in stationary engines and emission control solutions.
Integrated or modular exhaust assemblies combining NOx reduction, sound attenuation, AdBlue/DEF dosing, mixing, control and service access.
An additional stage to address CO and hydrocarbons (HC), subject to engine data, operating conditions and emissions targets.
Particulate control where required, with regeneration strategy and operating temperatures assessed during feasibility engineering.
Backup generators do not behave like continuously operating engines. The system must respect the actual duty cycle without compromising engine operation.
Start-up, short test runs and low-load operation determine SCR activation and performance.
We check exhaust flow and pressure loss against the engine manufacturer’s limits.
Silencer geometry and attenuation targets are engineered alongside the emissions stages.
Layouts for enclosures, plant rooms or external skids, with dosing, sensors and serviceability in mind.
The more complete the real generator data, the more accurately the catalyst, dosing system, silencer and backpressure can be assessed.
| Input | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Engine make, model and power | Establishes the calculation basis, operating range and OEM limits. |
| Exhaust gas flow | Defines cross-section, gas velocity and system sizing. |
| Temperature profile | Determines SCR activation and AdBlue/DEF dosing strategy. |
| Engine-out NOx and target | Supports catalyst volume and reduction strategy sizing. |
| O₂ and H₂O, when available | Improves exhaust-gas characterisation for catalyst calculations and selection. |
| Maximum allowable backpressure | Allows the complete system to be checked against engine limits. |
| Acoustic target | Defines required attenuation and silencer design. |
| Operating hours, starts and load | Describes the real testing, standby and partial-load duty cycle. |
| Available space and layout | Defines architecture, maintenance access and stack arrangement. |
Engine data, exhaust conditions, emission and acoustic objectives, space and local permit needs.

Installation coordination, calibration, validation and optional monitoring or maintenance support.
EU Directive 2015/2193 and national regulations may apply to eligible combustion installations. Local permits, operating hours and project-specific conditions must also be assessed. An SCR is not automatically mandatory for every emergency generator.
EU Medium Combustion Plant Directive Technical and regulatory scope are confirmed during project assessment. No blanket compliance claim is made.No. Applicability depends on rated thermal input, operating hours, national implementation and the conditions of the site permit. We review the target emissions requirements before selecting a technical solution.
Yes. We engineer combined or modular configurations based on allowable backpressure, acoustic targets, exhaust temperature, flow and available space.
Yes, where required and technically viable. DOC targets CO/HC; DPF addresses particulate matter. Each addition changes the design and pressure-loss budget, and DPF suitability depends on regeneration conditions.
Engine make and model, rated power, exhaust flow and temperature, maximum backpressure, generator duty cycle, acoustic requirement, NOx target, site country and available installation space.
We assess noise attenuation and NOx treatment together. Share engine specifications, emissions targets and acoustic requirements for an initial feasibility review.
